Kim Bevier
Kim Bevier is a 2,000 hour CFII SEL and Glider pilot with 1300 hours of tailwheel time in various aircraft and has given over 1100 hours of tailwheel training to almost 300 pilots. Kim also holds a commercial SES rating.
He soloed in a Schweizer 2-33 Glider at age 15, but after school and a nine year tour with the Naval Security Group, pursued a career in software engineering with EDS in Dallas, TX. He got back into flying in 1984 and in 1993 started Cirrus Flight Training, which specializes in tailwheel flight instruction. During his commercial flying career, Kim created the only Part 135 Air Carrier operation in the United States that used an Aeronca Champ. As the chief, and only, pilot of CIRRUS (Air Carrier U8CA528I), he flew scenic air tours throughout the southeast.
Since October of 2007, he has worked as a full time flight instructor with his company, Cirrus Flight Training.
Kim organized the founding of EAA Chapter 1132 in Camden, SC, and is a member of the EAA, the AOPA, the National Association of Flight Instructors, a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem, and is currently half-way through the construction of a plans built GP-4. Kim currently resides in Camden, South Carolina.
